Welcome to sdfc youth

The SDFC Youth is creatively attempting to connect youth with God and each other in ways that are COVID safe.  In order to make this happen, we have couple options for how 6th -12th graders can engage with us throughout the week!

Now that we have made it to the red tier, we are meeting in person on Wednesday nights in the Youth Room from 7:00p-8:30p for games, worship, and time of reflection together.  We still require all youths and youth staff to wear face coverings and remain socially distant indoors and outdoors.  The windows and doors of the youth room will remain open throughout our time together for the sake of air flow in the room.

Beginning Wednesday, September 15th, we will be transitioning to a 6:30p-8:00p Youth Group time to accommodate parents who might have children participating in the children's Christmas musical at that same time in Brown Chapel.

Students are able to stay connected online as well via The Mighty Network, which is both a website and an app that operates like a private social media platform.  6th - 12th graders can find our Mighty Network by either downloading the app and searching for "SDFC Youth" under the "search for an existing group" option or heading to  Once a student finds the SDFC Youth page, they can request access to be a part of the group, and a youth staff will verify them as a member.  Students are then able to ask questions, participate in online conversations, and keep up to date with all that's going on in our youth group.

For further ways to keep up to date, email and ask to be added to our weekly email list!

SDFC Youth Fall Retreat 2021

By the time October 22nd-24th rolls around, we assume your middle or high schooler will probably be feeling a bit stuck and in need of inspiration, or maybe they'll be feeling overwhelmed and in need of a break. That's where we come in!

Friday, October 22nd - Sunday, October 24th, the youth from San Diego First Church of the Nazarene will be traveling to Palomar Mountain for a Fall Retreat led by our youth pastor M'Lynn Martin and our wonderful youth staff volunteers.

You can register your youth(s) using this link!

More infor about fall retreat

We will be tent camping, hiking, playing games together, and worshipping around the campfire. Our focal verse for the weekend is Romans 8:28, "We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God." As we center ourselves around this verse, we'll spend time in various Bible stories where God seems to make peace out of chaos, learning to trust that God can also make peace out of our chaos as well.

Even though we will be exclusively outside during our time at Fall Retreat, we will be in close quarters in vehicle rides to the campsite and while sleeping in the tents. Because of this reason, we are requesting that all students provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours before we depart on October 22nd.
