Lead Pastor
James and his wife Kyla have been married for 33 years and have two young adult kids, Cady and Thomas. A graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary, James is excited to be a part of the team here at SDFC and grateful for all the ways God is at work. Wherever they are, you'll find the Kinzlers helping to foster a sense of community where people are finding connection both with Jesus and with one another.

KASSY FITZPATRICK
associate Pastor of Worship arts and Student ministryKassy graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a heart for cultivating spaces in which people can come as they are, connect in community, and encounter Jesus. Whether through a cup of coffee, a moment gathered in worship, or a game of dodgeball on a Wednesday night, Kassy loves to walk with people in their unique journeys of faith.

Pastor of Congregational care and Formation
Rebecca lives in Point Loma with her husband Michael. She retired from teaching from Point Loma Nazarene University’s School of Theology and Christian Ministry in 2025. Now she is happily “organizing the love” through our care ministries. One of Rebecca’s favorite words is “with” as she believes we share God’s love best when we do it together.

Director of Community Life
Chase and his fiancée Hadley both graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University and love being a part of the SDFC Family. After working in a variety of fields, Chase is so grateful to be a part of the amazing team and loves what he gets to do to help our church glorify the Lord.

Director of Children's Ministries
Judith Hernandez serves as the Children’s Director at SDFC. She is a 2023 graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University, where she earned her degree in Christian Studies. Judith is excited to be a part of a strong welcoming community and team at SDFC. She loves bringing creativity, and energy to make ministry meaningful and fun.

Receptionist
Rachel is an M.A. in Writing candidate at Point Loma Nazarene University, where she learned to deeply engage with writing and reading as spiritual practices. She loves to be in community with people, and believes in the reinvigorating power of those simple, everyday conversations. She hopes to bring joy and brightness to those around her.
