Anti-racism education series

Secondary Title

The Creation & Advocacy Committee would like to invite you to an Anti-Racism Educational Series starting on October 20th. Members of our church will serve as moderators as they guide participants in four distinct topic areas:

  • October 20: White Fragility/Privilege (moderated by Karl Martin)
  • October 27: Historical Overview (moderated by Amechi Nwaohia & Kerry Fulcher)
  • November 10: Racism within Education (moderated by Rebecca Laird & Dean Nelson)
  • November 17: Racism in the Church (moderated by Dee Kelley)

We hope to provide education on areas of racism and resistance in our country, city, church, and personal lives while creating a space to identify our own racism. Moderators will offer ideas for change as well as additional resources and action suggestions to dismantle our racist systems and choices. Throughout the series, a theological and scriptural lens will be brought into our anti-racism understanding and actions.

This will be a virtual series on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm. Moderators will provide materials each week that we hope participants delve into prior to attending the Zoom meeting (although if you don't have time for that, please still join us). Materials, details, and the Zoom link can all be found here: http://bit.ly/antiracismsdfc
